Exhibiting at The Self Storage Association UK Conference

The Self Storage Association UK (SSA), recently hosted its annual trade show, bringing together suppliers, operators and professionals from across the self storage industry. The event provided exhibitors with the opportunity to showcase their latest products, services and innovations, while both new and established self storage businesses were able to explore solutions and connect with industry experts.
For the first time, the trade show was also open to non-members of the SSA, alongside existing members. This allowed individuals and businesses interested in entering the self storage sector attend, network and gain insight into the industry without needing to commit to membership beforehand.
A Stand Designed to Stand Out
The trade show took place at Telford International Centre, where we exhibited on 29th and 30th April. Our stand featured a 20ft multi compartment container on display with a specially customised 20ft container stacked on top. For the event, the top container had been professionally graffitied in our brand colours and featured our company logo creating a bold and eye catching display across the exhibition hall.
Positioned in front of the containers was our exhibition stand table, showcasing a range of branded merchandise. Alongside our usual promotional items including tote bags, notebooks, pens and water bottles we wanted to create something unique that would help us stand out from the other exhibitors. As a result, we introduced 2 brand new merchandise items for the show: a yellow branded phone holder for customers to have at their desk and the second were yellow ‘mini container’ tins with our branding on with sweets inside. Both new items proved to be extremely popular with visitors throughout the event.
Showcasing the Benefits of Multi Compartment Containers
Our multi compartment containers are becoming increasingly popular within the self storage sector, as they provide operators with multiple smaller storage spaces while avoiding significantly higher costs associated with purchasing smaller individual containers, such as 8ft and 10ft units. However, many people within the industry are still unfamiliar with these units, particularly those new to self storage. Exhibiting the container at the trade show gave potential customers the opportunity to see the layout and functionality in person, helping them better understand the benefits and whether the solution could work for their business. this was one of the key reasons we chose to showcase the unit at the exhibition.
We import a range of multi compartment configurations from China, but you can’t beat seeing something ‘in the flesh’.
Industry Talks, Networking & Insights
The show opened at 8.15am on both mornings and ran until around 4.30pm each day. Throughout the event the exhibition hall remained busy, with a constant flow of visitors attending exhibitor stands and taking part in a range of self storage industry talks and presentations. The show featured around 50 exhibitors, alongside 2 dedicated theatres where expert led sessions and discussions took place.
Our Managing Director (Sarah Manning) also delivered a well-attended presentation covering the latest supply and pricing updates within the shipping container market. The session attracted strong interest from attendees looking to gain insight into current market trends and future expectations within the industry.
In the evening of the first day, a Young Storage Network drinks reception took place, which we were pleased to help organise. Following this was the awards dinner and drinks reception, where a number of self storage businesses were recognised and celebrated for their achievements, innovation and success within the industry.
It was a pleasure to meet not only new clients at the show, but also many of our existing customers. Trade shows provide a valuable opportunity to build and strengthen relationships face-to-face, helping us maintain a positive company image while continuing to deliver the high level of customer service our clients expect from us. We look forward to the 2027 event!
