Secure Stores are Stowupland Falcons FC’s new shirt sponsor
From the Secure Stores HQ, we can see a football pitch. It belongs to Stowpland Falcons FC, one of the largest grassroots community football clubs in the area. When one of us is out walking Max, the office dog – he’s head of barketing – we often see adults and children playing and practising.
Stowupland Falcons FC can trace its roots back to the late 1800s. Run by volunteer coaches, the club has 22 boys’, girls’ and mixed youth teams catering for all ages from under-sevens to under-18s. It also has six teams: First Team, Reserves, As, Women’s, Sunday Men’s and Vets. These teams play in leagues including the Suffolk and Ipswich League, Suffolk Girls and Women’s League, Bury and District Sunday Football League, Norfolk and Suffolk Veterans League, Ipswich and Suffolk Youth League and the Suffolk Youth League.
We decided we’d like to help such a fantastic local institution, so we’ve bought 36 new tops for the players and coaches of the A team and the Reserves.
Daniel Lloyd is coach and PR manager at Stowupland Falcons. He told us: “Secure Stores’ kind sponsorship makes all the difference to our Reserves and A team. It means that all the players will be wearing matching polo tops and will look like a team travelling to and from games.”
The club is built on an ethos of inclusivity. “We endorse a fair play policy for our youth teams at the club, meaning that the all the kids play for an equal amount of time, irrespective of their ability,” adds Daniel. “It encourages everyone to play as a team and improve at their own pace. We’re not in this to unearth the next Messi or Ronaldo, we’re a community-based club facilitating as many players as possible and giving them a platform to play and enjoy football.”
Our 2023 goal? Get involved with the community
Our managing director Sarah Manning spearheaded the sponsorship initiative. “I firmly believe that all local businesses should support local communities where they can,” she says. “It’s one of the most enjoyable aspects of business – being able to use it to do some good in the local community.”And this could be just the start of a longer-term partnership, as Daniel Lloyd explains: “It’s also great to use our platform to promote Sarah’s business across Suffolk as we’ll be travelling all over Suffolk for away games. We’ve also been in discussions to see how we can extend our partnership throughout the club. Ultimately, we’re extremely grateful for Secure Stores’ kind sponsorship because grassroots clubs like Stowupland Falcons would not be able to operate and exist without the help of kind businesses willing to support the local community.”
