Stowupland Cricket Club
The Challenge
Secure Stores Nationwide’s HQ is in the village of Stowupland, in Suffolk. The village has a variety of local sports teams including the Falcons (Football Club), the Cricket Club and the Bowls Club. These groups are run by volunteers keen to support and provide sporting opportunities for all generations.
The cricket club were storing various equipment in an old shed. Sadly, the shed was broken in to and thieves made off with a ride-on mower, strimmer and air compressor, much to the disappointment of the local community.
The Solution
Secure Stores Managing Director (Sarah), spotted a post on a local Facebook page informing the local community of the break in and immediately wanted to help. As secure storage is ‘our thing’, we knew that this was a great opportunity to give something back to our local community.
We promptly offered a new one trip 20ft shipping container, free of charge to the Cricket Club for them to store their groundskeeping equipment in.
The Benefit
The 20ft container is more secure than the shed, and therefore offers better security for the cricket clubs valuable equipment. Providing the container free of charge meant that this would not hit the bank balance of a community run club, who put in a great amount of effort to raise funds to purchase the equipment they need.
The container could be delivered quickly from our Felixstowe depot and offloading with our on board HIAB cranes. This was also a great opportunity for Secure Stores to give something back to the local community.
